Last night we were honoured to spend the evening at the Autism Aware UK Charity Ball.
Autism Aware UK was set up by Jon & Kim Southall in 2012. Here’s a little information about the charity from their website:
“Autism Aware UK (AAUK) which is ran by trustees Jon Southall, Kimberley Southall, Kelly Gradwell & Joanne Burrows and with the help of patrons Bret Hollywood & Scott James works hard to raise awareness of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ASD now affects more than 1 in 100 people in the UK, yet not that much is known about the condition.
AAUK offers support to families affected by autism by sharing information and offering advice or just being there to listen.
AAUK also donates specialist equipment to schools and groups that support/educate people with ASD”
The work the charity does is truly inspiring and the team goes to great lengths to help people with Autism. They run fundraisers, one of which is the charity ball I attended last night, but they don’t stop there they run beer festivals, walks, climbs and have put themselves through some gruelling physicals challenges like Total Warrior UK.
